As a first-generation female STEM graduate from a low-income background, I am deeply honored to receive this award. I hope that the recognition I am receiving motivates other underrepresented students to continue pursuing their dreams. I dedicate this award to all supportive families like mine, who make all kinds of sacrifices to see their loved ones succeed. Mentoring students and seeing them belong and thrive has been one of the most rewarding experiences in my life.
